For the longest time, I've imagined what a Modern version of this song would sound like. And honestly? This sounds WAY better than anything I imagined! You've pretty much nailed it!

This is proving even further that Sonic Forces could have been beyond phenomenal if the right instruments were used. The composition is actually really good.

Wow, good job on this. I actually did quite like Classic's tracks in this game, but my opinions are pretty weird.
Shedgy the Hedgy I'm on a similar boat, in that this remix is awesome and that I liked some of Classic's music in this game.
The thing is, it's weird. The compositions of some of them--like this, Ghost Town, Casino Forest, and Chemical Plant--are honestly pretty good/catchy. It's their instrumentation that destroys them for me. Green Hill's especially.
It's the remix that makes the entire song as great sounding as it should be. On its own, it's a somewhat catchy melody buried under ear-grating instruments.

If the instrument choice was better (for the original, I mean--I know this is going for the synth heavy style on purpose) then I'd be close to calling Forces' soundtrack one of my favorites in the series. As it stands, primarily for Modern and Classic Sonic, I can only listen to maybe one full loop of the song before I get annoyed by it. (Good thing the stage length limits the songs to that much...) Perfect example for me is Network Terminal Inside. Man, that is catchy, one of my favorite songs in the game, but the lead synth gets really heavy on the ears after you listen to it for a while.

The original song honestly wasn't bad imo, it's just that the instruments they picked for it were terrible. It's nice to see people do this track justice.

The the Classic Sonic stage themes in Forces are so weird because from a melodic standpoint they’re actually amazing but they’re held back immensely by awful instrumentation

Clearly if a fan can make a better version than that means the real Sonic Team sucks and shouldn't be doing this anymore.
